In Oni Yegin and the Eye of Lolth, the death of Yevegeni awakened his uncle Bald Garry, who got up and wandered around for awhile, eventually raising Yevgeni as a kind of Death Knight.
While napping, Bald Garry had blocked the flow of Rubble Creek, forming Lake Garibaldi. When he stood, the waters were released in a torrent that took out the Cheakamus Dam and washed over the community of Pineview. The fabled waters of Brew Creek were contaminated, sad news to fans of Black Tusk Dwarven Ale. Fortunately the community of Pinecrest had prepared for the flood and was able to evacuate most residents into the tunnels and seal the blast doors, preventing major loss of life. They expect to have a new entrance dug above the water level in about a week; meanwhile they are using the back door in the next mountain valley (behind Brew Lake).
Fortunately for Squamish, the local RAW chapter was on a rafting trip down the Cheakamus when BG stood up. The group leaders were able to quickly erect a barrier using the Big Dam Spell Mantra, a widely know but seldom used ritual. Unfortunately, the ritual relies heavily on mage weed and their supply is running low.
Unfortunately for Squamish and the party, a Divine Emphasis Armed Tactical Holiness squad was patrolling the region. A major operational objective of the DEATH squads is to sabotage mageweed distribution, as their divine sponsors believe miracle scale magic should be the sole province of deities. Clerics Against Drugs (CAD), a local member of the Divine Emphasis Alliance (DEA), is madly trying to rustle up some divine casters to pray for a miracle to save Squamish when the barrier fails. Meanwhile, Gruumsh's DEATH squad has taken up positions on both sides of the barrier lake in order to prevent any mage weed from reaching the mages maintaining the barrier.
